Flora
The vegetation of Portugal is a mixture of Atlantic, European, Mediterranean and some African species, including many endemics but also invasive species.
Fauna
Fauna is also very rich, with plenty of mammals such as foxes, rabbits, and Iberian hares, wolves in the remote parts of Serra da Estrela, or even lynx in the Alentejo. Bird life is rich because the peninsula is used during winter migration, especially in the wetlands of the Algarve. And its abundant flora supports a rich community of insects and other animals as you can see from the picture below.
